About ODBC and ODBCSDK on Windows
ODBC on Windows
Database-capable applications created for Windows (Excel, etc..) support the built-in ODBC Driver Manager on Windows. To connect those applications with databases without installing client-side ODBC drivers (which might also involve installing additional *NET networking libraries, all of which have to be maintained with each new release), you may instead download and install our ODBC.NET driver which allows you to use server-side ODBC drivers.
If you are developing your own applications in C/C++ (or a language that can call C code), you may also eliminate the need for your users to ever download and install our ODBC.NET driver or spend any time in their ODBC control panel, simply by linking to our ODBCSDK.DLL instead of the Windows ODBC Driver Manager.
